The Bighorn River is currently experiencing fantastic fishing conditions! With light crowds and clear skies, it’s a great time to be on the water.

Nymphing has been very productive, with sowbugs and midge pupae being the hot flies. Jellybeans, Cotton Candy, Carpet Bugs, Firebeads, Zebras, Green Weenies and various Perdigons are working most of the day. Read more...

The river is finally waking up and we’re seeing some excellent fishing!  The river is in fantastic shape and flows are right around 3000 cfs.  It was a busy weekend and expect the trend to continue!  We had some guide trips out this past week and they did very well and reported a lot of 16-20″ fish as the norm.  Read more...

Spring is coming a bit early to the Bighorn Valley.  We snuck out yesterday and experienced some very solid fishing!  There was a healthy range of fish from 14-20″ and a few bigger.  We’re seeing a good mix of rainbows of browns, which will make for a promising season!

The Bighorn has finally cleared and fishing is great!  A few folks around, but not too bad.  Our Bighorn Brown Trout are in full spawn mode so please stay off the redds!

It’s finally turning around!  The Afterbay is beginning to fill and clarity in the river is slowly improving.  We’ve had some fantastic weather and great fishing the past few days and should continue to get even better!

It looks like we’re in for a major weather shift the next few days.  Our first snow for the season and cool temps are on the way.  This should help with the lake turnover we’re seeing in the river right now.  Despite the not so ideal water color, the fishing has been pretty good, for most. Water temps are slowly on the drop and fishing seems to be picking up.  This was our last ‘busy’ weekend and not busy like the Summer.  If you like solitude and great weather, this is a good time to fish the Bighorn.
